Religion can influence the development of a culture in many different ways.
One big example is food. Whenever a large group of people that practice the same religion all settle in one place, they will bring food with them. Their religion might not allow them to eat a certain food, so the culture of that area is affected because that type of food will not be popular in that area.
Also, if a large group of people that are one religion all speak one language, and they move to settle somewhere else, that area will be a large speaker of that specific language.
